Joeys
This term we’ve had a focus on all things Science! We looked at making things hot with the sun and light, and in the following weeks did activities relating the Science of Motion and how we move, and the Science of Construction using cardboard boxes. This week we’re on to Science of the Environment as we meet at Emerald Lake Park. We’re finishing the term undertaking activities around the themes of electronics and robotics, and water and waves which will be great fun at Lilydale Lake Park. Finally we will be celebrating Harmony Day as we embrace diversity and plan to visit Jumpy Crazy Trampoline Centre – the Science of Air! – just before the holidays. We have a busy mob and we are developing a new leadership team in Joey Scouts, so parents are encouraged to be a part of our nightly program by lending a hand and having fun!

Cubs
This term we’ve made the most of the good weather and have had a fun night of wet and messy games including going ‘ice blocking’ down the hill at Pepi’s Land, and throwing sponges and flour at the Leaders! We also went Canoeing at Aura Vale Lake and Cubs were able to work towards earning their Canoeing badges. We’ve been for a long night hike along the Dandenong Ranges Tourist Track and we’re looking forward to our Magical Mystery Tour event – creating bush huts and exploring the amazing Redwood Forest at Warburton for Akela’s Wood Badge Project. At the end of the term we’re having a night of games, activities and fun before the holidays.

Ogilvy Rovers
We attended Surfmoot over the Australia Day long weekend at the Eumeralla Scout camp in Anglesea, had a farewell party for one of our members who is turning 26 and to cope with the heat, have visited a couple of pools.
