Cuboree 2017

By Cub Scout Hilary Green

On Monday 2nd October, I was very excited because I was going to Cuboree!
After arriving at Gilwelll Park, we set up our tents and stretchers, and explored the camp site. That night we all went to the Opening Parade – there were 3625 Cubs! We watched a concert about a genie, which matched the theme of Cuboree, 1001 Arabian Nights.

The week was spent sleeping, eating, chilling out, meeting new people and completing LOTS of FUN activities. My favourite activity that we did was the Mud Obstacle Course. This involved battling other Cubs with large foam sticks, trying to knock them into the mud, while we were balancing on a plank of wood. We all ended up very muddy, some of the kids had to be hosed off!
I want to say a big thank you to the leaders and parents who helped out, they spent a week off work and away from home to let us have such a fun time. And, the spaghetti Bolognese was delicious!
