Under the new fire rules, the following practices have been implemented at Emerald.
KNOWING THE FIRE DANGER RATING
IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY
No Scouts on Total Fire Ban, Extreme or Code Red
- We will do our best to make the call a couple of days prior to each away from hall activity.
- Hall activities will be cancelled without notice.
- Things change rapidly - expect last minute changes just prior to, or even during activities.
- Once the call is made to cancel on expected weather conditions we will not reverse that decision.
- If on camp/activity and conditions worsen unexpectedly you MUST come and get your Scouts immediately.
- If we need to evacuate from an activity we will head to safety. We will NOT wait for you.
- We will call you to advise what is happening as soon as we can.
- Make sure we have your latest contact information by always providing a Personal Information Form.
While we will make our best efforts, do NOT depend on us to call you – check the weather conditions in the area of our activities frequently. If they change during the activity come straight away. You may have better information than we do.
BE PREPARED
You can find out more about the bush fire danger and warnings on the CFA website.
