The FEAT Abseiling Team
The FEAT Mt Dandenong Region Abseiling Team is a satellite team of the Victorian Branch Abseiling Council (VBAC). The team has grown from its beginings as the First Emerald Abseiling Team into a team that serves the Mt Dandenong Scout Region. Members from the Scout and Guide community from anywhere are welcome. We also work with VBAC and other teams on jobs in other areas.
Team Leader Paul Pavlinovich by phone 5968 2572 (AH), 0407 537 674 Booking Officer Matt Conway by phone 5968 4083 (AH) Email Enquiries - use the About / Contact Us Page
The team operates the Wilson and Nunn Tower (formerly The Bell Tower) situated at 1st Emerald Scout Group Hall 21 Kilvington Drive, Emerald. Melway 127 E5. Generally Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays and some weekends are available.
We can operate the Gilwell Park tower by pre-arrangement with Gilwell Park. Note when using Gilwell's tower there is an additional fee payable direct to Gilwell.
At this time we regret that we do not operate the Clifford Park tower (but we're working on it!).
We operate annual sessions at Four Brothers Rocks in Bunyip State Park in October.
If you're interested in becoming a part of this challenging and interesting activity base please let us know. Team numbers are low - we need you to keep this running!
For bookings please send us an email either directly or via the contact us page.

The 12m tower at Emerald is available for corporate use. We require a $250
donation for the use of the tower for a day for corporate groups to help
cover our maintenance and operating costs. This includes a qualified
Abseiling Guide to unlock, show how to run through the safety requirements,
demonstrate setup and effective operation of the tower. The guide will not
stay during your session but will return to lockup.
If you require use of the adjacent Scout Hall (toilets, meeting room,
kitchen) a $30 donation and booking with Emerald Scout Group via Bronwyn
Smith 5968 4439 is required. There are also nearby public toilets.
You must have own equipment and qualified personnel.
To rig the tower you will need at least:
3 x 16m 11mm static ropes (2 running ropes, 1 rescue rope)
3 x steel caribiner
3 x load bearing slings
2 x slings for the instructors to secure themselves
The tower is designed for bottom belay.
The tower is located at 21 Kilvington Drive.
We need a letter from your insurer naming Scouts Victoria as an interested
party on your minimum 20 million dollar public liability insurance.
An authorised representative will need to complete a hall hire form

Bookins are available for 2012
Booking procedure: If you wish to book the team, please check the Booking Availability Matrix below to see when we have team availability. We take two bookings each month. Generally, Wednesdays and Fridays are available. We take some weekend bookings for special events. Then contact the booking officer Matt Conway on 0449 954 623 to secure a place. Bookings are NOT available during school holidays.
Due to changes in the family lives and people who have moved away from the area, team availability is very low this year - we desperately need new members to come and help. Venturers, Rovers and Leaders (of any type) are needed. Our governing parent body VBAC will be running training around March/April. Come and help us or this activity might vanish. Contact Paul on 0407 537 674 for more information on joining the team.
